ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How long have you known Tommy and Buck would kiss?
OLIVER STARK:Not very long.

It kind of came together, I guess, while still shooting episodes 2 and 3.
And I said, “Yes, I love that.
I think that’s fantastic.”
For a long, long time, in fact.
I think the crumbs have been there.
It felt to me like there was something beneath the surface, right?
So I think that was a big driving force in it for me.
So had you been playing scenes in previous seasons with that in mind?
The first one that sticks out to me…. ABC
When actually filming the kiss scene, how did you want to play it?
Did Buck want Tommy to kiss him the whole time?
I don’t think he consciously wanted that.
I don’t think he knew what he was feeling throughout the whole episode.
He just knows he’s feeling something, and it feels strong.
It felt very emotional.
And I feel very emotional when I watch it, because it feels like this release.
It was quite cathartic, and I think very liberating.
So where does Buck go from here?
“What does this mean?”
“Who am I?”
“What about all these things that I thought to be true of myself?”
And then in typical9-1-1fashion, having his family support him and make him feel the best version of himself.
I think there’s a responsibility to tell the story the right way.
I feel very proud of the work and just to be a part of it.
