But the main thing Mackie remembers from that production is an incredible confrontation he witnessed at an afterparty.
“There used to be this club in downtown Detroit called Marilyn’s on Monroe,” Mackie says.
“Em was the biggest at that time.
This guy tried to come up, they wouldn’t let him come up.”
Then, security threw him outside.
He threw a trashcan through the front window, came in, fought security some more, and left.
And while he was leaving, he said, ‘I’m coming back next week!'"
