“I truly witnessed her heart and compassion,” Leah says of seeing Captain Sandy in action.
Sandy would pop the question at sunset.
“My God, have I just ruined captain’s day?”

“Sandy was so great, and this is where I witnessed her leadership,” Leah tellsEntertainment Weekly.
“You hear about it and you see it on the show.
But I truly witnessed her heart and compassion.

She could have been like, you know what?
Forget it, I got it.”
And she guided him and got off the dock and gave him that second chance to get it right.
She didn’t make him feel stupid, and it was beautiful to witness."
Despite her own nerves with the proposal, Sandy laughs about how she had to roll with the hiccup.
Once they arrived at the beach, Leah knew they weren’t just going on a regular date.
And I looked at her and I go, ‘What is happening?'"
Leah soon caught on as she noticed Sandy fumbling in her pocket in search of the engagement ring.
“She couldn’t find the ring in her pocket,” Leah recalls.
“I was like, ‘Why is she squirming?'”
Once Sandy found the ring and proposed, the couple felt nothing but joy.
And that was just really beautiful."
