Nev Schulmanis feeling “lucky” to be alive after breaking his neck in a major bicycle accident.
I never made it to pick up my son from school on the bike, Schulman captioned the post.
In fact in some ways, Im glad I didnt.

I was alone on impact.

He continued, I was alone and unconscious.
Maybe I was fine (I wasnt).
Maybe I can still do my long run on Thursday (I couldnt).
I broke my neck.
C5 and C6 to be exact, he wrote.
The incredible knowledge and care from everyone in the medical community has been so remarkable.
He also included a photo of his purplish surgery scar and X-rays of the injury to his spine.
Im really starting to understand the meaning of gratitude.
For the big and little things before the accident, and now everything moving forward.
