So what it means is I’ve been here a while," he said.
Todd remained atMeet the Pressuntil 2023, when Kristen Welker took over the position.
The journalist indicated that he’s dissatisfied with the current state of national media.
“I’m a believer that national media is never always really that trusted by people.
The farther away something is, the more skeptical we are of it.
And national media is not going to fix its credibility on its own.
Todd called on his fellow journalists to maintain high standards.
“We got to continue to call them like we see them.
We got to continue covering politics as it is, not as we wish it were.
Being a real political journalist isn’t about building a brand.
He ended his remarks with admiration for his former coworkers.
To be honest, I still can’t believe that I got to follow in those amazing footsteps.
That alone is the honor of a lifetime.”
