He was pronounced dead at his home.
Police told the outlet he seemed to have died from natural causes and that no foul play is suspected.
Simmons was once a ubiquitous presence following his rise to fame in the 80s.
In the later years of his life, Simmonsretreated from public lifeand made fewer onscreen appearances.
