Unlike its predecessor, however, this chapter can’t marry its thematic ambitions to its crowd-pleasing slasher sensibilities.

Sure, their preparations are totally insufficient, but at least they tried, right?

This movie deserves props for taking bold swings, even if not all lead to home runs.
