Halle Berryfully immersed herself into the world of her upcoming thriller,Never Let Go.

The admission drew gasps from some in the audience.

“There was no electricity, no lights, my character skinning squirrels,” Berry recounted.

“And they’re eating bugs and frogs raw frogs in the woods.”

“I had to really skin a squirrel.

These things wildly challenged me to create some reality within this world that felt so foreign.”

Berry was very much up to the task, though.

“I am a bonafide adrenaline junkie,” she said.

This gave me an opportunity to be a part of a world I had never seen before."

From director Alexandre Aja, the psychological thriller centers on a family of three haunted by an evil entity.

It was a creepy environment," Berry said.

The film “reminded me how I would protect my children with my life,” she added.

“What would you do to protect your children?

This role gave me a chance to really take that to the limit.”

Never Let Goarrives in theaters Sept. 27.
