Evans says that two years ago, while visiting Indonesia for the summer, he reconnected withRaidstar Iko Uwais.
Struck by Uwais' charisma and camera presence, Evans cast him in his first movie, 2009’sMerantau.
They then reteamed forThe Raidfilms, which inspired everything fromJohn WicktoMonkey Man.
