Baena created the experimental dramedy seriesCinema Toastfor Showtime in 2021, which featured directorial work from Plaza.

Plazashared a statementwithEntertainment Weeklyshortly after Baena’s death, writing, “This is an unimaginable tragedy.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support.
