The auction is not back for 46, Probst tells EW.

That’s a gigantic lift from production," he explains.

Now there are so many departments involved.

And those departments are already overtaxed coordinating all the other elements of production.

We only have certain amount of days, says Probst.

And in those days, a certain amount of daylight hours.

We can’t get more crew.

It’s just this complicated math problem.

We are working harder than we’ve ever worked before.

And then we had to turn right around and do 46.

Even so, it would have been a tall order after what the crew went through on 45.

And so for 46, the auction was like, that’s just too much.

We can’t do it again.

Rather, it has to fit into the puzzle of what else is being shot for a particular season.

Will we do it in 47 and 48?

Probably one of the two.

But we do love it, fans love it, and I love that.

Just not for season 46.
