On Saturday, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call from Simmons housekeeper, reportedABC News.
Thecomedian spoke with EWabout why he wanted to play the fitness icon ahead of the film’s premiere.
“I am him,” he said.
“I like helping people.
I like putting that energy out there…
I help comedians and people, and so I really relate to Richard.

Shore added, “And I’ve known him for years from back in the day.
I started in the ’90s…

However, after the project was announced Simmons took to social media to disavow it completely.
“Simmons wrote on Facebook.
“You may have heard they may be doing a movie about me with Pauly Shore.
I have never given my permission for this movie.
So dont believe everything you read.”
I just give a shot to live a quiet life and be peaceful,” he added.
“Thank you for all your love and support.
Shore responded that he had been up all night crying about Simmons response.
“Richard, how do you not approve of this movie?
“Shore wrote on Instagram.
“I mean, really, whos better to play you in a movie than ME?
Leonardo DiCaprios not gonna play you.
Brad Pitts not gonna play you.
