Yet, Linklater couldn’t score.
His natural and unfussy visual aesthetic comes off as flat and uninteresting here.
Meanwhile, Linklater’s movie adaptation only makes you question why you watched it in the first place.

The choice to fictionalize Schlosser’s journalism robs the story of its true impact by muddying the factual waters.
In the end, this is a studio-made remake of existing intellectual property and not a Linklater film.
Sadly, the rest of the movie doesn’t live up to his performance.

!follows a group of baseball players in 1980 on their first day of college.
Loved by those who have seen it,Bernieranks among the best of Linklater’s efforts.
