“Nobody has sex scenes in movies anymore,” he said.

“It’s pretty great.

It’s pretty hot.Babygirl’s great.”

Lowe admitted that he’s puzzled by the film’s reception.

“They’re like, ‘Oh, it’s sobrave.

She’s sobrave,'” he said sarcastically.

“She’s brave because she has a sex scene.

And in our day, it was required.

There’s the page 73 rule.

Do you know what the page 73 rule is?”

Lowe explained the concept to his guest.

“In the day, the sex scene was always on page 73,” he said.

“You get a script and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, how gratuitous.

Do I have to be naked in this?

Let me check.’

And you didn’t have to read the whole script.

You just went to page 73.”

“That midsecond act what do you do in the second act?”

“Which is notoriously the toughest sledding in storytelling: midsecond act.

He continued, “But now it’s brave.

“Kim Cattralland I did a movie calledMasqueradetogether, which, I love that movie,” he said.

It was pretty gratuitous, but it was great.”

Still, Lowe has admitted in the past that sex scenes aren’t pleasant experiences on set.

He recalled the laborious monotony of filming erotic sequences withDemi Moorein 1986’sAbout Last Nightin a 2021 interview withYahoo.

“They’re not fun,” he told the outlet.

“They’re not a hall pass, as much as you would like it to be.

They’re very technical, and usually very boring.”

“It’s not fun!

It’s not all you bargain for.”
