Fisher-Becker played Fat Friar in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
Fisher-Becker’s manager confirmed his death in a statement toEntertainment Weekly.
He had been a fan of the show since he was a child.

Simon was also a writer, a raconteur and a great public speaker.
He helped me out enormously and was always kind, gracious and interested in everyone.
A cause of death was not given.

Fisher-Becker’s husband Tony also confirmed the actor’s death in aFacebook poston Sunday, March 9.
“I have some very sad news,” he wrote.
“At 2:50 this afternoon Simon passed away.”
As Fat Friar, he was one of several friendly ghosts who roamed the halls at Hogwarts.
Fisher-Becker got his start with the TV featureAn Ungentlemanly Actin 1992.
He also appeared in the 2012 Oscar-winning adaptation ofLes Miserables.
