Those contrasting personas work wonders here, as the two actors operate in concert with each other.

As grand metaphors for self-destructive behavior go, this is a pretty clever one.
Hathaway plays a mean drunk oppositeJason Sudeikis' resident Nice Guy who turns out to be anything but.

The next-best thing is living vicariously through a crew of movie stars in cool outfits.
